Dr. Sung-Hee Do Wins the F.W. Taylor Medal for Axiomatic Design

Brighton, MA, August 31, 2003 - Dr. Sung-Hee Do, Vice President of Technology at Axiomatic Design Solutions, Inc. (ADSI) has been awarded the F.W. Taylor Medal 2001 for his outstanding research work in the field of software system design for improved software quality. Dr. Do presented his award-winning paper, "Axiomatic Design of Software Systems," at the CIRP 2000 General Assembly in Sydney, Australia.

The unique research and development work of Dr. Do lies in the combination of design with an object-oriented programming method to create new systems. He is one of the pioneering contributors to axiomatic design and developed a new generic approach to software design called "Axiomatic Design of Object-Oriented Software System."

Every year, the International Institution for Production Engineering Research, or CIRP (College International pour l'Etude Scientifique des Techniques de Production Mecanique) based in Paris, awards the F.W. Taylor Medal to an individual for his outstanding contribution to production engineering research and development. The medal is named after Frederick W. Taylor (1856-1915) who was a pioneer in production engineering, and is also known for defining the techniques for scientific management.

CIRP, an international organization with about 500 members representing some 40 countries, was founded in 1951. Nominations for Taylor Medal are evaluated by a CIRP committee with a detailed reviewing process, and the final decision is approved by at least two-thirds of the active members.
